Albright outmatched Stevenson in attacks on the volleyball court, but 13 fewest errors by the Mustangs helped them to a 25-19, 25-7, 25-16 sweep. Stevenson out-hit the Lions .312 to -.054 in the match. Albright hit negative in all three sets with 23 total errors in the match.

All of those errors limited Albright to only 18 kills. Meanwhile, Stevenson had 33, spread across and even attack with Lauren Weaver leading the effort with six and teammate Annika Schwartz finishing second on the team with five kills and seven digs.

The score was even at 6-6 in the opening set, but five unanswered points by the Mustangs gave them an 11-6 lead. Albright called a timeout to half Stevenson’s momentum and were able to put their deficit down to three points at 13-10. However, Stevenson pulled away to win the set, ending it with a kill from Kristen Brooks.

In the second set, Stevenson dominated early, taking a 10-3 lead before the Lions called a timeout. But that timeout did nothing to quell the Mustangs stampede. Stevenson added 11 unanswered points to go ahead 21-3. Albright was able to score four more points, even saving set point once, but the dominant set finally came to an end after Claudia Guise served an error.

Stevenson again were able to take a hefty lead with a strong start to the third set. They led 14-6 before the Lions showed life with five consecutive points to make it a three-point set. But Stevenson kept their comfortable lead and cruised to the match victory. They scored the last four points of the match with the final three being earned points off two kills and a block.

The Mustangs remained unbeaten in conference play at 6-0 while earning their eight-straight victory. They will play four non-conference games before getting back to playing MACC opponents later in the month. On Thursday they will travel to Washington DC to play Catholic before hosting Stockton and Rowan on Saturday.
